We are evolving…
For nearly the past ten years, you’ve known us as Ride My Road, a name born out of a powerful vision; a motorcycle, a camera and 10,000 miles.
However, Ride My Road has always been more than just a name; it has been a community, a rallying cry, and a symbol of solidarity in the fight against human trafficking. Together, we have raised awareness, told survivor stories with dignity, and built a movement that continues to grow. But as our work has evolved, so too has our vision for the future.
Today, I want to share with you from my heart why we’ve decided to take a bold step forward and change our name from Ride My Road to Disruptors Org.
Why the Change?
When I first launched Ride My Road, the motorcycle was my companion, my vehicle, and my metaphor. It was my way of connecting with people on the road and drawing attention to the hidden realities of trafficking in America. Those early miles, thousands of them, were about awakening conversations that few people were having. And it worked. The motorcycle captured imaginations and gave us an entry point into difficult but necessary discussions.
But over time, our work has expanded far beyond those first miles on the road. We’ve grown into hosting national events, like the Southern Oregon Human Trafficking Disruptors Summit, and into building survivor-centered initiatives like the Fighter Fund, which provides critical financial support for those rebuilding their lives after exploitation. These programs don’t rely on a motorcycle to move forward, they rely on people. They rely on community. They rely on all of us disrupting systems of exploitation together.
The truth is, Ride My Road was never meant to stay still. It was always about motion, about moving forward, about transformation. And now, our name needs to reflect the breadth of what we are becoming.
Why “Disruptors Org”?
We chose the name Disruptors Org because that is exactly what we aim to be: disruptors of exploitation, disruptors of silence, disruptors of systems that allow trafficking to persist. Our new name speaks to the collective power of our community, not just one person on a motorcycle. It highlights that our work is bigger than one road, one journey, or one individual, it’s about all of us standing together, refusing to accept the status quo.
To disrupt means to interrupt harmful patterns. It means we refuse to look away. It means we innovate, we challenge, and we change. That’s what our Fighter Fund does. That’s what our Summits do. That’s what you do when you donate, when you show up, when you lend your voice.
Disruptors Org is a name that makes room for all of it, for the motorcycle rides, yes, but also for the conferences, the collaborations, the portraits, the survivor support, and the untold possibilities ahead.
What Happens to Ride My Road?
Ride My Road is not going away—it will always remain a program under Disruptors Org. Motorcycles will forever capture my heart, and if I ever decide to go on another cross-country ride, Ride My Road will still be the banner I ride under. It will continue to hold space for the unique intersection of motorcycle culture and anti-trafficking advocacy, a space that helped launch this movement.
And just as importantly, my survivor portrait project will continue as well. Whether I arrive on two wheels, in a car, or on a plane, I will always continue to gift the gift of portrait photography to survivors with dignity and respect. That piece of my work is not dependent on how I travel; it is dependent on the commitment to amplify voices that must be heard.
What This Means for You - Our Community
For our donors, supporters, and community, this change means that your impact is expanding. Everything you’ve invested in us through Ride My Road is not lost, it’s growing. Every dollar you’ve given, every hour you’ve volunteered, every mile you’ve ridden with us, it all continues to fuel our mission, only now with a name that reflects the true scale of what we’re doing.
And we need you now more than ever.
Why We Still Need You
Rebranding is exciting, but it is also a reminder that the fight is far from over. Survivors of trafficking need more than awareness. They need financial support, community, and resources to thrive. Our Fighter Fund is already meeting urgent needs, but it has the potential to grow even more with your support. Our Disruptors Summit is sparking new collaborations and commitments, but we want to bring that energy to even more communities across the country.
The name Disruptors Org sets us up for the future, but the future is only possible with you. You are not just donors, you are disruptors. You are part of the movement. And together, we will continue to build something powerful, something that refuses to let exploitation go unchallenged.
Looking Back, Moving Forward
When I look back at the journey from the first Ride My Road ride until now, I see so many faces, survivors who shared their courage, supporters who believed in our mission, donors who gave generously, bikers who rode beside me, and communities that opened their hearts. That road has led us here, to this moment of transformation.
Ride My Road gave us our roots. Disruptors Org gives us our wings.
This isn’t the end of the road. It’s a new stretch of it. And I couldn’t be more grateful that you are walking, or riding, alongside us.
A Personal Note
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me, in Ride My Road, and now in Disruptors Org. Change can feel bittersweet, but I believe this is the right step for our mission, for survivors, and for our community. The name may change, but the heart of this work remains the same: to honor survivors, to disrupt exploitation, and to create a world where freedom and dignity are possible for all.
I hope you feel the same energy, possibility, and hope that I do. Together, let’s keep disrupting, keep creating change, and keep moving forward.
With gratitude, resolve and lots of love,
Lauren Trantham
